Culver's celebrated the grand opening of its newest Jacksonville restaurant Sept. 27 at 7818 Gate Parkway, near IKEA, on the city's Southside.

It's ButterBurgers galore. Not to mention fresh frozen custard, cheese curds and more old-fashion comfort food plus snacks like pretzel bites.

Culver's opened its newest restaurant Sept. 27 at 7818 Gate Parkway on Jacksonville's Southside, the company confirmed via Twitter. The opening first was reported by the Jacksonville Daily Record.

The restaurant's opening comes just two years after Culver's opened its first Northeast Florida location in Middleburg. Since then, other restaurants have opened at 7923 Parramore Road on Jacksonville's Westside and 45 Fountains Ave. N. in St. Johns. In January, Culver's opened in St. Augustine at 3433 U.S. 1.

At least two more restaurants are in the pipeline.

Construction is underway for Culver's at 101 Monument Road in the Arlington area. That's the site of the former Miami Subs across from Regency Square Mall. No opening date has been announced.

A restaurant is also planned in Yulee at 46731 SR 200.

Culver's Double Deluxe Cheeseburger is among the most popular menu items along with fresh frozen custard and cheese curds offered by the fast-casual Wisconsin-based restaurant chain, which continues its expansion in Northeast Florida.

Known for its cooked-to-order food, Culver's signature items include the ButterBurger, made from fresh, never frozen beef, fresh frozen custard and cheese curds. It also serves chicken sandwiches, seafood, pretzel bites, soups and salads.

Based in Prairie du Sac, WI., the company has more than 750 family-owned/operated franchises across 25 states, according to its website.
