TWICE Celebrate The Thrill Of Young Love On New Song “The Feels”

The K-pop superstars have released their first original English single.

The nine-member K-pop girl group TWICE have been topping iTunes charts around the world with “The Feels,” their first original single in English. Released last week, the song features production by Justin Reinstein and collapsedown, both of whom have worked with TWICE before.

“The Feels” is an uptempo disco track with lyrics that match the giddy vibe. It’s a song about new love and all the mixed-up emotions that come with it. TWICE member Sana captures the thrilling uncertainty in the first verse:

Catching feels like butterflies
If I say what’s on my mind
Would I hit bullseye? (Woo)

In the second verse, TWICE rapper Chaeyoung rhymes about lowering her defenses and taking a chance on the object of her affections:

’Cause you got me good and I wanna be ya boo
If it’s dumb, well, I wanna be a fool

In a video on TWICE’s YouTube channel, Chaeyoung spoke about the song’s underlying message. “Don’t hide your feelings—follow your feels when you like someone,” she said. “So the song is really happy and confidence-boosting.” TWICE brought the positive message to millions last week, when they performed “The Feels” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. There’s also a prom-themed “The Feels” music video that’s been racking up tens of millions of views since premiering on September 30.
