James Gunn is Working on New DC Project

After working on The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker spinoff, James Gunn is working on another DC project. While responding to a fan on Twitter, Gunn confirmed that he is developing another project for DC.

Gunn said, “Yes, I'm developing another DC project besides Peacemaker.” The filmmaker hasn’t revealed which DC characters or stories will be a part of the project. It’s also unclear whether Gunn’s next DC project will be a movie or a series. Fans can expect to get some insight about this project at DC FanDome 2021. DC FanDome is a free virtual global event that features cast and creator panels for DC movies, games, series, comics, and more. The event will also reveal trailers, news, announcements, as well as new footage from various DC projects.

DC FanDome 2021 will take place on October 16 and it will be livestreamed on the official DC FanDome website, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Twitch. The event will feature a new trailer for The Batman, first look at Black Adam, behind the scenes look from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Shazam! Fury of the Gods, new look at upcoming seasons of Superman & Lois, Sweet Tooth, The Flash, Batwoman, and more.

Along with a future DC project, Gunn is working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be Gunn’s final movie in the franchise and it will most likely also be the last one with current team including Peter Quill, Gamora, Rocket, Drax, Groot, Nebula, and Mantis.
