Dog the Bounty Hunter turns over evidence about Brian Laundrie to authorities

Dog the Bounty Hunter has turned over to authorities evidence he said he hoped can be examined for DNA to prove fugitive Brian Laundrie’s presence at a Florida park, The Post has learned.

Duane “Dog” Chapman, who has been working to confirm a tip about a recent Laundrie sighting near the Appalachian Trail, handed over some items found on one of the islands near Fort De Soto Park, according to his publicist.

The bounty hunter also has had an off-duty police officer embedded in his team the past few days, the rep said.

“Tracking a fugitive is a marathon, not a sprint,” Dog said. “We are continuing to search for Brian Laundrie. The longer he is on the run, the more dangerous this becomes.”

Meanwhile, his daughter Lyssa Chapman told The Post on Sunday that she has been in contact with Dennis Davis, who claims he spoke with Laundrie on a deserted road near the border of Tennessee and North Carolina on Saturday morning.

According to new reports, Dog the Bounty Hunter has turned over all the evidence he collected to police in hopes they can test it to prove that Brian Laundrie was in the Florida campground.

The 34-year-old woman said she has been running down close to 3,000 tips that have flooded into the 833-TELLDOG hotline over the past week.

Laundrie, 23, who has been named a person of interest in the case, is wanted on bank fraud charges after his 22-year-old girlfriend, Gabby Petito, was found dead in Wyoming last month.

Dog has tracked the Laundrie family to a campsite at Fort De Soto Park, which was later confirmed by public records that showed the fugitive’s mother, Roberta, checked into “Site 001-Waterfront” between Sept. 6 and Sept. 8.
