Niko Price 'down to bang' with Nick Diaz or Nate Diaz after UFC Fight Night 193 win

Niko Price wants another action fighter in the welterweight division after his victory at UFC Fight Night 193.

Price (15-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) snapped his three-fight winless skid Saturday when he secured a unanimous decision win over Alex Oliveira (21-11-1 MMA, 11-9 UFC) at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Although this particular fight didn’t live up to the reputation of both men, Price still has built a resume as one of the most exciting names at 170 pounds. Going forward, he wants to be matched up with someone who is viewed in a similar light

In his mind, that would be Nick Diaz (26-10 MMA, 7-7 UFC) or Nate Diaz (20-13 MMA, 15-11 UFC), both of whom are coming off losses in their most recent outings.

“I’m looking for a top 15 or just a big name, like one of these Diaz guys,” Price told reporters, including MMA Junkie, post-fight at UFC Fight Night 193. “I know they’re back and they’re always down to bang. I’m one of those bangers, too. I would like to classify myself with them.”

It’s unknown whether either of the Diaz brothers have any interest in competing against Price, but “Hybrid” thinks he has a good window to call his shot and try to make it happen.

Price said he’ll wait and see what materializes while he heals up from his fight, but once he’s got the green light to return, he said he won’t be waiting around.

“I’ve got a couple bumps on me right now, so I’m going to see how those heal,” Price said. “Then I’ll be texting (UFC matchmaker Sean) Shelby what’s up. I’ll be like, ‘Shelby! What you you got?'”
