Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in east Orange County neighborhood

A pedestrian was killed Monday morning following a vehicle crash in east Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers arrived just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of Peabody Street and Benedict Avenue where a pedestrian was reportedly struck by a vehicle, near Wedgefield, said the FHP’s Lt. Kim Montes.

The pedestrian was taken to Orlando Health, where they later died, Montes said.

No details on the driver were released at this time.
