Michelle and Barack Obama Recreated the Sweetest Throwback Photo for Their 29th Wedding Anniversary

"How it started vs. how it's going."

Michelle and Barack Obama's marriage is almost three decades strong. On Sunday, America's favorite couple celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary, and for the occasion, they shared the sweetest tributes in each other's honor on social media.

For her part, Michelle posted "how it started vs. how it's going" photos to her grid — including a super cute '90s throwback pic of the pair cuddled up together on a sea foam green couch. In the snapshot, Michelle can be seen wearing a purple T-shirt with matching earrings and a white cotton skirt, while Barack's wedding band is on full display as he rests his arm on a pillow. Recreating the moment today, the couple sat on their current couch in the same pose. And honestly, not much has changed.

"Happy anniversary, Barack—love you! ❤️😘," Michelle wrote.

Barack returned the love and posted the same pic of the couple, as well as a second bonus snap, to his page. "Happy anniversary, Miche! Over the past 29 years, I've loved watching the world get to know you not just as a daughter of the South Side, but as a mother, lawyer, executive, author, First Lady, and my best friend," he captioned the photo. "I can't imagine life without you."

The former president and First Lady tied the knot on October 3, 1992, and later went on to welcome their two daughters — Malia, 23, and Sasha, 20.
