Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Made A 'Sackable Offence' During Manchester United vs Everton

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told his decision to leave Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench during Manchester United vs Everton is a 'sackable offence'.

Ronaldo came on as a second half substitute in Saturday's 1-1 draw after playing a full 90 minutes against Villarreal in midweek.

It has seen many question the decision given his start to life back at Old Trafford, which has seen him score five goals.

Gabby Agbonlahor vented on talkSPORT: "It's a sackable offence not to start Ronaldo in itself.

"Ronaldo you have to play him, you just put yourself under so much pressure by not playing him, he has to start.

"He's been brought in on probably £700,000 a week so to play games and win leagues for Manchester United.

"He's in that squad to win the Premier League this season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not going to win the league for Manchester United."

United have won two of their last six games in all competitions and have earned 14 points from their first seven Premier League games, sitting in fourth place.

Solskjaer has also been slammed for an image which appears to show him smiling in injury time.

The image in question is a screenshot of the Norwegian coach telling Scott McTominay to get back in position.

But many believe it's proof he was 'happy with a draw' and not focused on winning the game for United.

Agbonlahor continued: "Even the last 30 seconds of the game he's laughing on the touchline. "It just shows he's happy with a draw, you shouldn't be happy with a draw against Everton at home."

Solskjaer was defiant when it came to resting 36-year-old Ronaldo and defended his decision in a post-match interview.

When asked if he regretted the decision, Solskjaer explained to Sky Sports: "No. You make decisions throughout a long, long season; you have to manage the players' workload and the decision for me was the correct one.

"Anthony Martial did well, scored a good goal. Edinson [Cavani] needed minutes and could have had a goal.

"We have to make those decisions at the time."

Martial opened the scoring with his first goal in eight months before Andros Townsend earned the Toffees a valuable point in the second half.
