Let’s Talk 2021 WWE Draft So Far & Monday Morning Q&A

Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.

So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!

1) What was the most shocking draft pick so far from Night 1 and the first supplemental trades?

As much as I was surprised they split up The New Day again, Charlotte Flair going to SmackDown was the biggest shocker for me. She still holds the Raw Women’s Championship and no one seems poised to beat her for that belt. I also didn’t think we’d see Bianca Belair win the SmackDown Women’s Championship to offset this and trade titles in a swap like last year’s tag team title situation, nor did I think Becky Lynch would be moving to Raw for that same reason (especially since I thought Seth Rollins would stay on SmackDown as a potential challenger for Roman Reigns down the line after a babyface turn).

I guess now, we have to lean more toward either the Belair title win or, more likely, Lynch and Rollins to Raw. It’s a shame they’ll have to do the whole belt exchange thing again and probably count that as an extra title reign for Flair just for the hell of it.

2) Mace and T-Bar split up in the draft. Which of the two do you think will be more successful in singles competition?

Dominik Dijakovic is the superior wrestler, so T-Bar has a distinct advantage. Mace, if he goes back to Dio Maddin and stops being this character, can also upgrade and find his footing, but he’s not going to do it as just “Mace, the guy who used to be in RETRIBUTION”

I’m imagining Mace will get lost in the shuffle soon enough while T-Bar’s success depends on how much they load up on people in the midcard scene for Raw. If that’s stacked, it’ll be harder for him. With some wiggle room, though, maybe WWE will start paying attention to how good he is.

Don’t be shocked if Mace ends up in another makeshift tag team by 2022. I hope he does better than that, but I can see that happening.

3) Aliyah, Austin Theory and Hit Row were all called up from NXT. Who are you most excited for joining the main roster?

In the long run, Austin Theory. I think he has some major potential to be a “next John Cena” in a lot of ways (and in his own right). Hit Row is for the immediate future, as their personalities will inject some life into SmackDown particularly if The Street Profits move to Raw to go with Bianca Belair.

With Aliyah, I’m excited to see her get a chance. She’s been in NXT for seemingly forever. Sink or swim time. Sometimes, people that have struggled in NXT have done much better on the main roster, so maybe now is her time to shine.

Overall, though, Theory’s the guy I’m looking out for and most excited to see. I hope this is the start of something big.

4) Without knowing the brackets yet, are you rooting for anyone in particular for King of the Ring and/or Queen’s Crown?

Sentimentally, since I know he’s so fond of it, I want Xavier Woods to win King of the Ring. I highly doubt that’s WWE’s intention, but I’m rooting for him. My backup idea would be AJ Styles going with “The Phenomenal King” afterward. Just to toss out some other thoughts, though, how about Cesaro? Kevin Owens? Finn Balor upgrading from Prince to King? I actually wouldn’t mind Jinder Mahal. King Ricochet could be cool.

For Queen’s Crown, I’m rooting for Asuka. She’s done everything else (Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, all belts available to her at the times she was on those rosters). If she’s back from her injury, let’s play around with how she can switch her gimmick up a bit, even if it’s just some new gear. Too many other people wouldn’t change their characters much, like Sasha Banks or Carmella. They’re already doing self-absorbed type gimmicks, so a babyface Queen Asuka would be cool. If not her, maybe Natalya to just roll with the Queen of Harts idea.

5) Who do you think will win the Casino Ladder Match on the two-year anniversary of AEW Dynamite?

At the moment, it seems this is just Andrade El Idolo, Jon Moxley, Lance Archer, Matt Hardy, Orange Cassidy, PAC and a mystery joker opponent. If that’s it, the big question is whether the joker entrant is a big name or just a surprise return.

I’d rule out a portion of them from the start. Andrade doesn’t make sense to me, nor does Hardy. Moxley already lost the belt to Omega, as did PAC and Cassidy. Archer’s an easy person to have win this and then lose to Omega on television while you’re setting up someone else for Full Gear, as this hasn’t been specified to be a Full Gear opponent.

However, Full Gear isn’t too far away. If this is for Full Gear, I think the joker entrant is going to be Hangman Adam Page and he’s going to win this match.

Let us know your thoughts about these questions by answering them in the comments!
