Come for the game, stay for the reactions. After days of heavy anticipation, the reunion between Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Tom Brady and New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick finally happened on Sunday.

While the two embraced on the field after the game, it was awkward, to say the least. But in the end, it was Brady who should feel more comfortable after the Buccaneers beat the Patriots, 19-17 in a tightly contested game all throughout. His first return to Gillette Stadium, as expected, was met with heavy fanfare, which probably affected Brady as he didn't exactly deliver a shiny performance.

After the game, Belichick even downplayed the Buccaneers' win, offering a snarky remark on Brady (via ESPN).

“We went against Tom Brady every day, every day in practice defensively. So it's not like we've ever seen Tom Brady before.”

Well, that's fun.

One could argue though that Belichick's game plan indeed made life difficult for Brady, who only finished 22-for-43 for 269 yards with no touchdowns. He was pressured by the Patriots defense all game long, missing targets even in the red zone. Still, he managed to steer the Buccaneers to victory with a crucial drive in the fourth quarter, earning the praise of coach Bruce Arians.

“In crunch time when we needed a field goal, he got us down the field. He wasn't going to make any mistakes that cost us the game.”

Even though both Brady and Belichick have repeatedly denied that their relationship has been strained, it's clear they're not as chummy as before.
