Women's Soccer Stumbles at Wagner

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — The Merrimack women's soccer team was unable to get the offense going in a conference contest, stumbling in a 3-0 loss at Wagner on Sunday afternoon.

The Basics

The Summary
  • Merrimack's offense pressured Wagner in the opening 45, posting 10 shot attempts and three shots on goal. In the physical contest, the Seahawks struck in the 16' for the only tally in the first half.
  • The hosts scored their second of the afternoon after opening the second half with an offensive flurry, hitting the cross bar before sending a shot wide for a corner kick. The Seahawks goal came off of a header from the corner service. 
  • Wagner closed out the contest with its final goal in the final minutes of the contest, converting a goal kick to the midfield through for a high finish for the final score.
