Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street bosses have confirmed multiple deadly stunts will rip through Weatherfield for Super Soap Week.
Both Emmerdale and Coronation Street will air a week full of high-impact episodes once again this October — and not all of your favourite characters may make it out alive!
A massive storm will wreak havoc throughout the cobbles, making the Platts' sinkhole a much bigger hazard than imaginable. As personal grudges also climax, the lives of the Alahans, Connors, Websters and Battersbys will be forever changed.
"We set out to make a week of breathless, brilliant drama – and boy, have our outstanding cast, crew, design team and writers delivered," producer Iain MacLeod teased. "The week is jammed packed with twists and turns, and astonishing visual spectacle. It also has heart, heroism and humour in the most unexpected places. I have to say it again: our team has excelled themselves.
"Making any TV in a pandemic is hard, especially if you've been doing it non-stop for over 12 months – so I have to tip my hat to everyone for their tireless efforts in continuing to raise the bar, against all the odds.”
The trouble is set to begin as Debbie Webster designs a House of Horrors attraction for the residents of Weatherfield. While everyone is busy picking out their costumes, the earth begins to shift around the sinkhole.
Disaster strikes while Jenny Bradley is torn between new lover Leo and ex-husband Johnny Connor, the latter of whom has decided to leave town because of his heartbreak.
Jenny is concerned about Leo's whereabouts as a storm strikes Weatherfield, so soon it's up to Johnny to try to rescue Jenny when the earth literally falls out from under her.
In spite of the storm, Dev is determined to go ahead with his family holiday with Aadi and Asha. The trio find themselves lost on a country road, where they have a terrifying encounter with a prison van.
As the situation spirals desperately out of control, Dev has to make the brutal of choice of which child he is able to pull out of a burning car. The crash leads to a huge fireball.
The prison van crash has other dire consequences as well because injured drug dealer Harvey Gaskell is inside! He's now out and determined to have a final showdown with Leanne Battersby for sending him to jail.
As if the stakes weren't high enough, Abi Franklin is still consumed with vengeance for son Seb's death. Though Nina tries to talk her out of anything dangerous, Abi has a gun and she's ready to use it on killer Corey.
But before she can act, the sinkhole gives way — leaving Jenny, Johnny, Abi and Corey all trapped underground in the Victorian sewers and fighting for their lives.
Who lives? Who dies? Find out during Super Soap Week…
