Ella-Rae Smith from Netflix's The Stranger and Matthew Daddario from Shadowhunters are teaming up to star in a new thriller called Into The Deep, Deadline has reported.
The film is now shooting in Cornwall, and follows a young woman named Jess, played by Smith, who meets a stranger promising to take her away from the small coastal town she lives in. The couple holiday on his yacht, but mistrust and violence soon follow, making Smith's character fearful of the person she's with.
Kate Cox will be making her debut as director while David Beton, who wrote The Banishing, will be writing the screenplay.
Jessica Alexander, star of The Banquet, will also be appearing in the new thriller from Signature Films and Tea Shop Productions.
Daddario's character is as yet unnamed, while Alexander has been listed as playing Lexie. Nikkita Chadha (The Great, Bridgerton, and Cinderella) will be playing Emi, Andrew Steele (The Royals and Outlander) will be playing Mark, Jack Morris (The Bill, EastEnders and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society) will be playing Tom and Michael Workeye (Big Age) will be playing Mike.
Smith played Daisy in the Netflix adaptation of Harlan Coben's 2015 novel The Stranger, as well as appearing in Clique, Into The Badlands and The Witcher.
