If we told you a quarterback that has played for the Carolina Panthers currently holds an all-time record involving rushing touchdowns, you’d probably think “Cam Newton.” Welp . . .

Congratulations are in order for well-noted dual-threat passer Sam Darnold, who made some history in the second quarter of Carolina’s Week 4 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. His 11-yard scamper into the end zone, his second of the day, brought his rushing-touchdown total up to five on the season—the most for any quarterback in the Super Bowl era through four games.

This slick score, which capped off a 13-play, 75-yard drive, helped push Carolina up to a 1-point lead over the host Cowboys. His first on the afternoon came on a 1-yard run at the end of the first quarter off another 75-yard trek.

Darnold also tied one of his own personal records (sorta) as well. He scored five rushing touchdowns in his entire three-year, 38-game stint with the New York Jets. It’s now taken him just four in Carolina to match that mark.

And, as cute as it may be, we will not be referring to him as “Cam Darnold.” Or “Sam Newton.” Sorry, not happening.
