Malvern girls are seventh at Cambridge

Lanie Bower finished 22nd at Cambridge with a time of 23:16.

The Lady Hornets finished seventh in the small-school race at the Cambridge Invitational.

Lanie Bower was 22nd in 23:16, Emma Debo was 60th in 26:55, Mackenzi Riley was 64th in 27:36, Megan Kuba was 66th in 27:43, Rayne Theiss was 72nd in 28:35, and Tana Drew was 78th in 29:15.

“Lanie was able to reach her goal of being in the medal hunt and Kenzi ran a personal best,” stated Head Coach Jeremy Maher. “We look forward to seeing the girls continue to progress as the season begins to wind down.”

Caldwell won the title with 61 points, and was followed by Linsly with 67, New Lexington with 78, Buckeye Trail with 89, Strasburg with 113, Newark Catholic with 149, Malvern with 195, Claymont with 27:03, Edison with 29:21, and Harrison Central with 28:36.

Boys Cross Country

Landyn Huffman finished seventh with a time of 18:07, Seth Kandel was 39th in 19:48, Ben Moser was 65th in 20:54, and Thomas Poole was 76th in 21:41.

“What an awesome race for the boys,” noted Coach Maher. “Landyn was very focused and is getting better every week. Ben and Tommy both ran personal bests, and Seth is on a brink of placing in the top third consistently every week.”

Junior High

Addison Mitchell was 13th in 13:33, Emma Maher was 15th in 13:36, Katie Kuba was 44th in 15:10, Kendra Veroski was 114th in 19:45, and Viv Poole was 124th in 21:51.

Dalton Pennington finished 54th in the boys race with a time of 14:35.
