Steven Schapiro has amassed a huge online following as co-owner of The Daily Dropout and as a YouTube star on Fake Pranks TV. He’s especially known for the fun-loving and good-hearted pranks he performs on the unwitting people of his hometown, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
One such prank involved going to a local Great Clips for a haircut, except his hair was already perfectly coiffed. In a video, he asks the stylist to snip just one little hair on the side of his head, which he claims has been bothering him. The “cut” takes so little time that she says she can’t even justify charging him. They argue briefly over whether he should pay before he proposes a compromise: What if he just gives her a tip?
When she agrees, he starts handing her $100 bills! It turns out he was just the blessing she needed, too. She confessed that she was short on her rent payment and his extraordinary “tip” would help her more than he knew.
