Nebraska head coach Scott Frost is a coach that demands perfection, even if his team is leading 35-7 by halftime over Northwestern.

Nebraska opened the game with a 21-0 start over Northwestern in the first quarter, before allowing a touchdown from the Wildcats. Nebraska dual-threat quarterback Adrian Martinez rushed for 3 touchdowns in the first quarter.

Nebraska outscored Northwestern 14-0 in the second quarter thanks to 2 rushing touchdowns from running back Rahmir Johnson. The Huskers also have running back Jaquez Yant rushing for 109 yards on 7 carries.

At halftime, Frost had this to say about his team’s progress despite the big lead:

“I’m still upset about the mistakes,” said Frost. “We put the ball on the ground, we should’ve scored again. I feel like the defense let up a little bit when we got up 3 scores. That can’t happen. I’m going to get after them at halftime.”

In the first half, Nebraska outgained Northwestern in total yards accounted for 398-to-187. Nebraska’s defense has held the offense of Northwestern to -2 rushing yards. While the defense surrendered a touchdown, the Husker defense has remained stout.
