Hundreds gather for abortion justice rally at NYS Capitol

Gov. Kathy Hochul says as long as she's governor, she will protect a woman's right to choose.
ALBANY (WRGB) - - - More than 600 rallies across the U.S. including right here in the Capital Region took place throughout the day Saturday in support of reproductive rights.

Hundreds came out to Albany for the "Rally For Abortion Justice" march Saturday afternoon.
These rallies comes as the most restrictive anti-abortion bill to date went into effect last month in Texas, which banned abortions after six weeks with no exceptions for rape or incest.
Gov. Kathy Hochul says as long as she's governor, she will protect a woman's right to choose.
The fight that was a fight when my mother was in her 30's..a fight that was a fight when I was in my 30's myself...and is still a fight today with my daughter Katie is in her 30's. I am sick and tired of having to fight over abortion rights. It's settled law in the nation and you are not taking that right away from us...not now, not ever," stated Gov. Hochul.
The Supreme Court, which returns Monday, denied a request to block the Texas Bill. Activists now fear it will empower other states to follow suit.
