Since retiring from the NBA in 2013, few former players have been as supportive to the current league as much as Allen Iverson has. Throughout his playing days, he commonly referred to himself as a “killer” on-court, and yesterday, he and fellow former player Al Harrington joined Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report to discuss some of today’s “killers.” Among those included was Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard.

The first four among Iverson’s list included Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Bradley Beal. When it came time to think of a fifth, Iverson smiled, exclaimed, and picked the Blazers superstar with his final selection.

In the actual clip, the Hall of Fame guard gets a little bit more explicit and passionate in describing the “rudeness” in which Lillard destroys opponents. He called action to Lillard’s ability to shoot the 3-pointer at a range from which few could, and Lillard’s fearlessness, as well as his success as a late-game scorer.

In considering the similarities of their offensive powers, rap careers, and relative stature and size, it’s no surprise that the two have become so connected over the past few years. Over the past few seasons, we’ve seen Lillard refer to Iverson as one of his “idols,” and then last year, Iverson included Lillard in his discussion as one of the NBA’s greatest players of all-time. Yesterday, Iverson and Harrington participated in a 56-minute sit-down interview. The link to the full video can be found above.
