The success of Ole Miss football of late can be pointed to one main thing — the relationship between quarterback Matt Corral and head coach Lane Kiffin.

When asked to describe their relationship on ESPN’s College GameDay, Kiffin says it’s not exactly like a father-son type of relationship, but rather, Kiffin says it’s more of a friendship between the 2.

“Maybe coaches are not supposed to say this, but yeah he’s (Corral) probably right more like a friend,” Kiffin said.

Corral agrees with his head coach.

“We completely trust each other, there is no grey area in our relationship and that’s what makes it so special,” Corral said.

Their off-the-field relationship can be pointed to as to why this Rebels team may be on the verge of something big if they manage to pull off the upset against Alabama.

A win today in Tuscaloosa will put them in the driver’s seat in the SEC West and a possible run to the Rebels’ first SEC Championship Game appearance.
