Tampa Bay Rays infielder Joey Wendle is sitting Saturday in the team's game against the New York Yankees.
Wendle is being replaced at second base by Brandon Lowe against Yankees starter Jordan Montgomery.
In 497 plate appearances this season, Wendle has a .267 batting average with a .744 OPS, 11 home runs, 73 runs and 54 RBI.
