Detroit Lions grab top-ranked QB, stud LB in 2022 NFL Mock Draft

No matter how much Honolulu blue Kool-Aid you chugged before the 2021 NFL season kicked off, you are now most likely to admit that it is going to be a rough season for our Detroit Lions.

Through three games, the Lions are winless and when you look up and down their remaining schedule, there is not a single week where a win is probable.

That being said, as it stands now, the Lions would have the No. 4 overall pick and the No. 30 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, which means they will have the opportunity to add some solid talent to their roster.

The Sporting News has released their latest 2022 NFL Mock Draft and as you can see below, they have the Lions selecting QB Malik Willis with the No. 4 overall pick and LB Christian Harris with the No. 30 pick.

4. Detroit Lions

  • Malik Willis, QB, Liberty (6-1, 215 pounds)

Willis has a cannon for an arm and great speed. He should have the potential to make scouting jaws drop at the position and make them less concerned about his small-school status given his awesome play so far. The Lions will need a QB, too, with Jared Goff serving as a shaky bridge.

30. Detroit Lions (from Rams)

  • Christian Harris, ILB, Alabama (6-2, 232 pounds)

Harris is another speedy sideline-to-sideline playmaker from the SEC with fine pedigree (with more prototypical size). The Lions just need to get better everywhere defensively so for now he would represent the best available player after addressing QB earlier.

Nation, would you be happy with these picks?

  1. No more playing around. Its time to put some skilled players on the field. Number one selection is a QB, number two is a wide receiver, number three is another wide receiver. The rest of the draft is spent on defense.
