'It's an Honour to be a Rival with Liverpool' - Pep Guardiola on Manchester City's Rivalry with Liverpool

In recent years we've learned that Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola has a massive amount of respect for Liverpool's history and club.

Every time we play Man City Guardiola goes on about how big of a club Liverpool are and how he loves playing against us.

This meeting is no different either. In his pre-match press conference ahead of the Liverpool game, Guardiola has said it's an 'honour' to be rivals with Liverpool.

“For us, it's an honour to be a rival with Liverpool. Decades ago we weren't rivals to them. For many years we try to compete with these legendary clubs so it's an honour. Hopefully for them too.

“To compete against one of the historic teams in England that's nice for us. Liverpool since I arrive here, first year maybe not, after the year that we won 100 points and they won the Champions League, Liverpool always was there.

“Last season they had many problems in the same position. Otherwise would have been different, and especially because we were excellent again. The last four years all the time we were both there. It's the biggest compliment both clubs were there.

We're not sure Manchester City fans would feel the same about their managers statement but their judgement is clouded in bias and hatred. However, it's nice to see a manager respect our club though.
