Have you ever wondered what itβs like to own and drive an electric vehicle?
Visitors to Pepper Place on Saturday can talk to EV owners and kick the tires on a selection of EVs at the National Drive Electric Week EVent (NDEW) atΒ The Market at Pepper Place in Birmingham. Owners are scheduled to be on hand from 8 a.m. until noon to answer questions while promoting electric vehicle awareness, technology, affordability and EVs other merits.
βA majority of Alabamians have never driven an electric vehicle, and thatβs why they trust EV owners to offer the unvarnished truth about the benefits of driving one,β said Michael Staley, President of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, one of the eventβs sponsors. βMany people still have questions about EVs, and this event offers an easy way to learn more about electric vehicles thatΒ give off zero emissions, have lower maintenance costs than gasoline-powered cars, and contribute to the creation of high-paying jobs right here in our state.β
In addition to the selection of EV passenger vehicles on display, Birmingham-based Autocar, one of the worldβs leading manufacturers of severe-duty trucks, is scheduled to have one of the companyβs new electric terminal tractors on display.
