NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Despite earning a nomination for album of the year at the 2021 Country Music Association Awards, Morgan Wallen will not be allowed to attend the award show.
A spokesperson tells FOX 17 News Wallen cannot attend, perform, or walk the red carpet at the 55th annual CMA Awards in Nashville next month. He is also not invited to accept the award should he win.
Wallen's "Dangerous: The Double Album" earned a nod for album of the year, alongside stars Carly Pearce, Eric Church, Brothers Osborne, and Chris Stapleton.
This comes months after a video surfaced of the country star using a racial slur at his Tennessee home. The controversy prompted the indefinite suspension from his record label, his world-renowned talent agency to drop him, and numerous country music organizations to halt his participation in any upcoming events.
