Steam Next Fest Launches Today Offering Hundreds of Game Demos

Get ready for a week of discovering gaming gems. Today marks the launch of another Steam Next Fest, with hundreds of demos, interviews and deals.

A week of demo madness on Steam awaits us! Today at 10 AM PT the October edition of the Steam Next Fest event will begin, advertising a whole bunch of games with demos for the players to check out.

From October 1 to 7, a total of several hundred demos will be available. There will also be interviews with developers, gameplay streams, as well as temporary deals on selected titles. The event is intended to help indie developers present their most interesting works to the wider audience of Steam users. As in the case of the previous Steam Next Fest we do not know the full list of games, but the short teaser announcing the festival featured some interesting titles:

Airhead - a combination of puzzle game and metroidvania, in which we direct the actions of an air-filled head and the rest of the body, forced to cooperate in a hostile world.

Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer's Legacy - a challenging open-world roguelite RPG with graphic inspired by Moebius; sequel to a 2017 game.

ANNO: Mutationem - action adventure game with RPG elements, set in a cyberpunk world and spiced up with original graphics combining 2D pixel characters with 3D surroundings.

Biwar Legend of Dragon Slayer - A third-person action game in a fantasy world inspired by the folklore and architecture of the island of Bali and the Indonesian part of New Guinea.

Mahokenshi - A mix of turn-based strategy and card game in a fantasy world inspired by Asian legends.

Decoherence - An interesting arena shooter with elements of strategy. We plan the deployment, roles and armament of robots in randomly generated arenas in PvP or single player mode. The player can take control of individual robots during the battle.

Inscryption - dark card game with elements of rougelike, horror and escape room games.

Negative Nancy - A black comedy with multiple endings where you learn to be assertive to the bone.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command - an RTS set in the universe of Starship Troopers.

Life of Delta - a point-and-click adventure game with robots in a post-apocalyptic world from Daedalic Entertainment.

Tunic - The adventures of a cute fox in an isometric action game reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

Itorah - a platformer with beautiful hand-drawn graphics, set in a fantasy realm inspired by Latin American folklore.

Only twelve games to start, but each of them looks very good. Get ready for the next week of testing and find the most interesting gems during the Steam Next Fest. Share your impressions by describing the coolest productions in the comments.

However, this is not the end of interesting events on Steam. On October 21 the Digital Tabletop Fest will start, and event dedicated to RPGs and digital board games. The previous edition of the festival, held in June this year, enabled us to test 700 demo versions of games.

If you like this type of game, prepare yourself for interesting discounts, interviews and gameplays. The schedule of the event is available here, and it includes an hour-long interview with the designer of Disco Elysium, a panel devoted to Necromunda: Hired Gun, new details on Baldur's Gate 3 from Larian Studios, presentations of Gloomhaven, The Last Spell, and Game of Thrones: The Board Game - Digital Edition. In order not to miss the event, you can set yourself a notification on your Steam account.
