There was plenty of drama at the latest Ultimate Fighting Championship weigh-in, as three UFC Fight Night 193 fighters missed weight.
While headliners Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker had no issue making weight, three other bouts were impacted. Bethe Correia missed weight badly for her upcoming retirement bout by coming in 2.5 pounds heavy against Karol Rosa. Short-notice replacement fighter Mike Breeden also missed his weight category's limit by 2.5 pounds, exceeding the lightweight cap ahead of his match with Alexander Hernandez. However, the most concerning fighter on the scale was Aspen Ladd, who was so shaky that it took several minutes after stripping down until her weight of 137 pounds was registered. After medical examination, her bout with Macy Chiasson has been canceled, per the UFC.
Santos (21-9) is on the worst losing streak of his career. Since dropping a split decision to Jon Jones, "Marreta" has been submitted by Glover Teixeira and lost a unanimous decision to Aleksandar Rakic. The 37-year-old stepped on the scale at 206 pounds.
Meanwhile, Walker (18-5) most recently snapped a stretch of two consecutive defeats by knocking out Ryan Spann with elbows and punches. Before that pivotal win, Walker had lost to both Corey Anderson and Nikita Krylov. Walker had no issue making weight and came in at 204.5 pounds.
UFC Fight Night 193 will air in its entirety on ESPN+ on Saturday. The prelims begin at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT and the main card starts at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
