Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Nina Lucas is given food for thought tonight (October 1) as Tim Metcalfe claims that it's time for everyone to move on from their anger over Corey Brent.

Nina (Mollie Gallagher) is still understandably struggling after justice wasn't served at the recent trial over the murder of her boyfriend Seb Franklin.

While Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) was sent down for the crime and has since received a life sentence, viewers know that Corey (Maximus Evans) was the real culprit and has escaped without punishment.

In Friday night's double bill, word spreads around the Street that Corey has now been promoted to the first team at Weatherfield County.

As Corey's anonymity is still being protected by the courts, most of his team-mates are completely unaware of the recent allegations against him.

Nina, Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) are all in agreement that the County players should be made aware of the truth about Corey.

Kevin tries asking James Bailey (Nathan Graham) to have a word with the team manager about the situation, but James doesn't manage to make any progress.

Kevin and his friend Tim (Joe Duttine) then decide to speak to the manager themselves. This is a particularly personal mission for Kevin, who believes that Seb's mum Abi may return home if she finds out Corey has been kicked off the team.

Sadly, when Tim and Kevin confront the manager outside the Weatherfield County ground, he dismisses them and insists that Corey was acquitted in a court of law.

Later on, Corey's dad Stefan (Paul Opacic) returns to the cobbles and angrily confronts Kevin for trying to destroy his son's career.

Sensing that things are spiralling out of control, Tim urges Kevin to now forget about the campaign for justice and focus on his family.

Tim then turns to Nina, pointing out that Kevin is a broken man and they both need to back down for their own sakes. With Asha in agreement, will Nina really be prepared to abandon the fight with so much still unresolved?

Coronation Street airs these scenes tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
