Burlington police: Man who reported girlfriend missing now charged with killing her
A man who reported his girlfriend missing from Alamance County earlier this month is now charged with killing her.Authorities said 53-year-old Eric Mosher filed a missing person report with the Burlington Police Department on Sept. 5, indicating he had not seen 61-year-old Yvonne Cavallo since Aug. 17. Both Mosher and Cavallo are from the Burlington area and were dating, police told WXII 12 News.As police investigated the incident, they determined Mosher's statements were untruthful regarding her disappearance. The Burlington Police Department, Graham Police Department and Mebane Police Department investigators worked collaboratively and determined that Mosher was involved in a dispute with Cavallo, and Mosher killed her and then discarded her body. Cavallo's remains were found Wednesday on Cherry Lane, just outside of Mebane.Mosher is charged with second-degree murder and concealment of a death.
