Carson Wentz does not have a fan in NFL analyst Rodney Harrison. The former All-Pro defensive back, now working for NBC Sports, did not beat around the bush when analyzing the Indianapolis Colts quarterback with colleague Jac Collinsworth on Tuesday. Per WIP:

Frank Reich, it seems like he’s totally changed his offense to fit around Carson Wentz. And Carson Wentz is terrible right now. He’s just not very good. He’s not playing with a lot of confidence, he’s not stepping into his throws. And this is the thing that we’ve talked about. This is perfect for Carson Wentz. He’s familiar with the coach, he’s got players and playmakers around him -- how can you mess this up? How can you mess this up? You’ve got Jonathan Taylor, you’ve got all these weapons and you’ve got good tight ends. ... I’ve been saying this, he’s just not very good. When you talk about a quarterback and the impact that a quarterback has on a team, he’s had a negative impact on the team. He’s had a negative impact. You mean to tell me that the Colts are that much worse as a team than they were last year? It’s because of the quarterback. I’m telling you, it’s just because of the quarterback, I’m not going to sugarcoat it. Carson Wentz isn’t very good.”

Wentz playing, and playing poorly, is music to the ears of Eagles fans. Wentz and the Colts lost to the Tennessee Titans, 25-16, on Sunday. It didn’t help that Wentz was playing with a pair of sprained ankles. But keep this in mind:

The Eagles want Wentz to play as much as possible, based on the terms of the trade completed in February. In the deal, the Eagles received a conditional second-round draft pick from the Colts. The selection can become a first-round pick if Wentz plays more than 75% of the snaps, or if Wentz plays 70% of the snaps and the Colts make the playoffs.

Now for the really good part. The Colts are 0-3, meaning that if the Eagles get a first-round selection from Indianapolis, it could be a premium pick. The Colts are one of five NFL teams without a win this season. The others are the New York Jets, New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions.
