Hoda Kotb enjoys surprising folks with happy news, like recently announcing the launch of her inspirational podcast. Knowing that, it’s possible she has started dropping hints about an upcoming life change with the help of her daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine.
On Monday, the Today show coanchor shared photos from her weekend spent with her two girls, whom she shares with her fiancé, Joel Schiffman. In the pictures, Haley, 4, and Hope, 2, pose alongside their mom and later in front a pumpkin patch. Dressed in graphic t-shirts and colorful pants, Hoda’s fans spotted the two siblings in another one of their matching outfits. But this time, a message on the shirts caught the attention of Hoda's Instagram followers.
Written in crayon, both Haley and Hope’s shirts read “I’m the big sister.” Given that Haley is the eldest, it would make sense if she wore this solo. But since both sisters were declaring they are the oldest, folks began speculating that Hoda and Joel might be soon welcoming a third baby to their family.
“I spy two big sister shirts.. 🧐🎉♥️,” one person wrote. “Hoda! The girls are darling and they both have on 'I’m the big sister' shirts 😍 thrilled for you and your family,” another added. “Baby #3?? Shirts are adorable!” a different fan said. “I see Little sister is being promoted ❣️❣️❣️,” a follower commented.
Last October, the NBC broadcast journalist opened up to People about her and Joel wanting to raise another child together. "Can we? Yes. Will our family be better with it? Yes. Do we have enough love in the house? Yes. All the answers seem to say yes," she told the magazine. "I think then you just wait and see if it's meant to be for you. That's where we are on that. I feel like families come in so many different shapes and sizes and as long as there's lots of love, I think they'll endure. I'm just going to wait and see on that one."
This past summer, Hoda shared an update with Andy Cohen on his Bravo show Watch What Happens Live. “I thought it would be a different game,” she said about the adoption process during the coronavirus pandemic.
She continued: "Everything’s slow but they say wait wisely and just be, so we’re just going to be."
