2021 Football Gameday Improvements at Nippert Stadium

Cincinnati Athletics Announces Additional Improvements to Football Game Days

Changes take effect beginning Friday, October 8 vs Temple

September 27, 2021

CINCINNATI - Cincinnati Athletics has announced additional improvements to enhance the fan experience on game days at and around Nippert Stadium for this season's remaining home games.

The following changes will be in place beginning Friday, Oct. 8, versus Temple:

Extended Nippert Stadium Perimeter and Offerings

The new perimeter is in response to fan feedback regarding longer than expected gate entry times, concourse congestion and a need for additional pre-game opportunities for fans who prefer to tailgate closer to the stadium.

  • The perimeter of Nippert Stadium will be expanded on the east side of the stadium
  • The perimeter will now include Sheakley Lawn, UC Baseball Stadium, and Fifth Third Arena
    • Fifth Third Arena's Tailgate will now open only two hours prior to kickoff.
  • An expanded perimeter will allow Athletics (over the course of the next four games) to:
    • expand food and beverage options to include food trucks and additional points of sale on or near Sheakley Lawn
    • open Sheakley Lawn, Fifth Third Arena, and the area in front of Lindner Center two hours prior to kickoff for early food and beverage service
    • allow fans access to Fifth Third Arena restrooms in-game, as well as select concession stands
  • Entry to this area will begin two hours prior to kickoff; all other stadium gates will open 90-minutes prior to kick-off

NEW EAST SIDE GATE ENTRY LOCATIONS

  • Gate entry for the East Side of the stadium will now be located at:
    • Fifth Third Arena (entrances located closest to Dabney Hall/Oscar Robertson Statue) – Will be identified as Gate A
    • O'Varsity Way - Will be identified as Gate B
  • The new gate entry locations create an additional 15+ points of entry.  Ideal for fans coming from Sigma Sigma Commons, Short Vine and Calhoun Streets.

Bearcats Fast Pass

BEARCATS FAST PASS

Bearcats Fast Pass is in response to fan feedback regarding a need to enjoy their tailgating prior to the game but also want to avoid longer than expected wait times at the gate.

NOTE: Your Bearcats Fast Pass may only be used for entry until the end of the first quarter.
  • Fans will be able to scan their tickets prior to gates opening.  This scan will allow fans to obtain a wristband for "fast pass" entry at designated gates.
  • Fans can obtain their wristbands starting four-hours prior to kickoff, up to 90 minutes prior to kickoff, at the following locations:
    • Fifth Third Arena main ticket office
    • Gate J
    • Sigma Sigma Commons aka The Grid (located nearest W University Avenue in front of where the band performs pregame)
  • Fans will then be able to enter the stadium by finding a "Fast pass" gate (and can still elect to enter any available gate), marked with green barricades and flag banners in the following locations:
    • Gate H
    • Gate J
    • Between Gate H and J
    • Gate E
    • Gate B
  • Once entering the stadium perimeter, re-entry is not allowed.

DEDICATED STUDENT GATE - GATE D

  • All students with general admission entry season tickets and single game tickets must enter Gate D, which is the new dedicated student gate
    • Gate D is located on either side of Dieterle Vocal Arts Center
    • Students will be given a student section wristband which gains them entry into Sections 111-115
    • Students trying to enter at gates other than Gate D will be instructed to enter at Gate D
    • Ushers will only allow entry to those with a student section wristband into the dedicated student section
    • Students with assigned seats in 214 or 215 can continue to utilize any gate for entry
