Borussia Dortmund made it two wins out of two in the UEFA Champions League, as they beat Sporting CP 1-0 courtesy of Donyell Malen’s first ever goal for the club.

Donyell Malen proved to be Borussia Dortmund’s match-winner in Erling Haaland’s absence, as his first goal for the club helped seal a 1-0 win over Sporting CP on Tuesday evening. It wasn’t the most attractive of performances from Marco Rose’s side, but they were in complete control of the game right from the start.

Jude Bellingham impressed once again, Manuel Akanji put in a rock-solid shift at the back, and Marco Reus made his return from injury. But more importantly, Donyell Malen got on the scoresheet and delivered a confident performance after being boosted by his goal.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 1-0 win over Sporting CP.

Gregor Kobel (6/10)

Kobel will especially be pleased with this result. He was finally able to enjoy a game where he barely had anything to do. And even better, he kept his first clean sheet since the first game of the season.
