JACKSON, Ga. - A Monday night murder is under investigation in Butts County.
According to a media release from the Jackson Police Department, their officers, along with deputies with Butts County, were called to the Freeman Circle community about a possible shooting. Investigators were also told to look in the area of Cherry and Henderson Streets.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds along Henderson Street. The victim, identified as 28-year-old Courtney Rashad Dunn, was later pronounced dead at Grady Hospital in Atlanta.
A witness told investigators a light brown truck was seen on Cherry Street. The witness said a man got out of the truck near the stop sign at the intersection of Cherry and Henderson Streets and fired several shots towards Dunn.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from possible money owed to the shooter. They were able to arrest 32-year-old Andreicus Coleman of Jenkinsburg, and charged him with murder.
