The Connecticut Sun enjoyed a dominant regular season, going 26-6 and getting the top seed in the Eastern Conference by a whopping 10 games over the second-place Chicago Sky. So, it's no surprise that the Sun cleaned up the awards for the 2021 season, with star Jonquel Jones making history by winning WNBA MVP.

Jones is now the first player in WNBA history to win Most Improved Player (2017), Sixth Woman of the Year (2018) and MVP (2021). She averaged 19.4 points and a league-leading 11.2 rebounds per game this season for the dominant Sun.

The 27-year-old was born in the Bahamas and came to the United States at 14 years old. After playing four years in college and starring at George Washington for three of those years, she was the sixth pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft. The Sun acquired her from the Los Angeles Sparks on draft night.

Jones just keeps getting better and better as she adds to her resume. In addition to these awards, she's a three-time WNBA All-Star and has a number of other accolades to her name.

The Sun also saw head coach Curt Miller win WNBA Coach of the Year for this season. The 26 wins for Connecticut is a franchise record, and Miller coached the team to a franchise-record 14 wins in a row at one point.
