A combination of the most popular zoo events from prior years are being mashed up into 'Cheetah Choktoberfest de Zoo, Uncorked!' on Saturday Oct. 2.
The two-part event is scheduled to kick off with the classic Cheetah Chase 5K at 9 a.m. and end with the festival starting at 12 p.m.
The run or walk race takes you through the kangaroos, dinosaurs in Zoorassic Park, giraffes and cheetahs.
Make sure not to slow down because, although tempting to stop and admire the animals, the top finishers of each age category are awarded prizes.
Each race participant is anticipated to receive a 2021 Cheetah Chase performance shirt, post-race refreshments which includes the first Bell's beer for free, and same-day admission to the zoo.
After the race, zoo-goers are given the opportunity to attend the festival from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the zoo pavilions.
Over forty vendors are expected to be pouring samples of craft beer, wine, cider, mead, seltzers and coffee.
Festival goers will receive a souvenir tasting glass, twelve drink tickets, entertainment and activities with their ticket.
Those looking for lunch or a snack with their drinks can visit La Chiva, Fox's Pizza and FireKeeper's food trucks and stations.
Live music is scheduled throughout the day starting at noon from Abbey Rose & Co., Jesse Campbell and The Fat Animals.
Attendees can enter a prize raffle to win New Belgium Brewing prizes; the grand prize is a New Belgium Brewing branded bike from Brooklyn Bicycle Co.
Cornhole lovers can participate in a cornhole tournament where first place winners take home a Bell's branded cornhole game set.
The event, presented by Sunshine Toyota, supports animal care and conservation education at Binder Park Zoo.
