European Center of Music, l’Opéra-Comique & Centre National des Armées to Celebrate 200th Birthday of Pauline Viardot

Several French organizations have unveiled performances and events celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of famed mezzo-soprano and composer Pauline Viardot.

First up, the European Center of Music and l’Opéra-Comique are teaming up to present several unique performances and masterclasses at the Salle Flavert. The organizations will present a masterclass featuring Dame Felicity Lott as well as a concert starring Lott, soprano Natalia Labourdette, mezzo-soprano Helena Ressureição, soprano Léa Sarfati, mezzo-soprano Maria Kalinine, and mezzo-soprano Marine Fribourg, among many others. The showcase will also feature the orchestre des jeunes de l’Union européenne.

The showcase is set for Oct. 6, 2021.

Then, the Centre National des Armées will present a concert featuring Louise Leterme, Marion Gomar, Enguerrand de Hys, and Renaud Boutin as they perform salon music by Pauline Viardot. That showcase is scheduled for Oct. 10, 2021.
