Two suspects sought in Carbondale armed robery

 

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Two suspects are being sought by police after a robbery in Carbondale.

Carbondale Police say at about 11:50 p.m. Friday night, a person was walking in the 700 block of South Dixon Street when they were approached by two men, one armed with a handgun. The victim told police that they tried to fight their attackers, but the thieves eventually took their property and then ran south, firing a shot into the air as they made their escape. The victim received minor injuries.

The suspect with the gun is described as a tall, thin white man wearing black clothing and a black face mask. The second suspect is described as a tall, thin black man wearing all black and a black face mask. The suspects were last seen running east on West Freeman Street.
