Dothan brothers, 21 and 23, arrested for shooting into occupied building

MIDLAND CITY, Ala. (WDHN) — Two brothers were arrested early Tuesday morning for shooting into an occupied building in Midland City, police said.

According to Midland City Police Chief, Jimmy Singleton, the department received a call around 12 a.m. Tuesday morning about gunshots being fired near Midtown Apartments in Midland City. The investigation led police officers to a description of the vehicle and the occupants of that vehicle.

Midland City Police Department and Dothan Police Department issued a BOLO for the following suspects and were able to apprehend them around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Brannon Weems, 21, was arrested and charged with discharging firearm into an occupied dwelling and Bruce Weems, 23, was arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied building. Both are in the Dale County Jail with no bond.

Chief Singleton told WDHN News the building was occupied but no one was injured and the investigation is still ongoing.
