For many, R. Kelly’s conviction on all 9 counts of racketeering this week was a case of justice being served.
However, the disgraced singer is vowing to fight for his freedom – despite facing life in prison.
Full story below…
Kelly, who has been convicted for a decades-long scheme to recruit women and underage girls for sex, took to his Facebook to offer the following response to the outcome of the New York trial:
“To all my fans and supporters I love you all and thank you for all the support. Today’s verdict was disappointing and I will continue to prove my innocence and fight for my freedom. ✊🏾❤️ #notguilty“
Kelly’s sentencing will be in May 2022. And while the minimum mandatory term is 10 years, he faces much longer – possibly life – due to the extent of his crimes.
Worse still for Kelly, there is another pending case – for which he will stand a fresh trial – in Chicago.
