Five inmates escape from Avoyelles Detention Center

Five Avoyelles Parish inmates escaped from Detention Center #1 in Marksville Monday night (Sept. 27). Sheriff David Dauzat is asking the public for assistance in apprehending the escapees by calling the 911 Communication Center or the /APSO at 318-253-4000 with any information about the inmates' whereabouts.

The five men are:

1) William Johnson, a 27-year-old black male from Marksville He is approximately 5’9” tall with black hair. He may be headed to the Marksville area.

2) Kyle Cavalier, a 19-year-old white male from Bunkie. He is approximately 5’5” tall with brown
hair. He was last seen in the Mansura area shortly after the escape.

3) Davantae Williams, a 20-year-old black male from Bunkie. He is approximately 5’6” tall with
black hair. He may be headed to the Bunkie area.

4) Dakeylon Berry, a 19-year-old black male from Hessmer. He is approximately 5’10” tall with
black hair. He may be headed to the Mansura area.

5) Rondrakus Taylor, a 19-year-old black male from Mansura. He is approximately 5’6” tall with
black hair. He may be headed to the Mansura area.

Dauzat said the escape is under investigation and security enhancements, changes in security
procedures, and construction repair and alteration operations will be implemented. More participants and/or
persons who assisted their escape or aid in their evading capture may be identified and arrested.

Sheriff David L. Dauzat would like your help in apprehending these escapees, and asks that anyone with
information about their whereabouts please contact the Avoyelles Parish 911 Communication Center, or the
Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-253-4000.
