Climate activists chain themselves to a bright pink boat outside of Gov. Charlie Baker’s home in Swampscott

A group of climate activists chained themselves to a boat outside of Gov. Charle Baker’s Swampscott home on Tuesday morning.

Photos shared by Extinction Rebellion Boston, which is environmental advocacy group demanding government act truthful and responsibility regarding climate change, show three to five individuals around a bright pink boat with the words “Climate Emergency” on it.

The people sitting by the boat appear to be chained to the vessel outside of Baker’s home.

Massachusetts State Police are on scene.

“Police now realizing that our rebels are locked on and not leaving. We have placed the Governor under citizen’s arrest. The police will make arrests but who is the criminal here?” Extinction Rebellion Boston said in a tweet.

A Facebook Live from Extinction Rebellion Boston said they arrived at Baker’s home at 7 a.m. in Swampscott, which the group said is at sea-level, but only for now due to rising oceans.

“Rebels have locked on. We demand climate justice and a declaration of climate and ecological emergency. The time to act is now,” the group said on social media.
