Bayonne police open fire during pursuit of stolen vehicle

BAYONNE, New Jersey (WABC) -- Shots were fired during a police chase of a speeding stolen vehicle on Route 440 in Bayonne.

Police attempted to pull over the vehicle, which was traveling at excessive speeds and going through red lights.

The officers fired shots during the pursuit on Route 440 and then local streets.

The white sedan was later located in an industrial area on the Jersey City border.

No one was in the vehicle and there were no arrests.

Multiple police units were searching on the ground for up to two suspects.

No injuries were reported, although police were looking for any possible shooting victims

The Hudson County Prosecutors Office is investigating.
