Mattel and Milestone present the launch trailer Hot Wheels Unleashed. This one particularly pleases with some actionpacked sequences, which fit well with the fastpaced racing game.
Racing gamers can finally drift, boost, jump and… crash on the iconic orange Hot Wheels race tracks! The title features unique single player modes, including the Hot Wheels City Rumble, in which players engage in races, time challenges and boss battles to expand their collection of unique vehicles and track parts. In multiplayer races, racing fans can challenge themselves with up to twelve players online (from day one including crossplay via consoles of the same console family) or in pairs in the offline splitscreen mode.
The grid will feature 66 vehicles, including Hot Wheels’ most famous original designs from the brand’s 53year history, such as Boneshaker™, Rodger Dodger™ and Twin Mill™. There are also pop culture car icons such as DC™’s Batmobile, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Party Wagon, Peanuts’ Snoopy, Universal Pictures’ time machine and Amblin Entertainment’s Back to the Future, NBC’s Knight Rider’s KITT, and vehicles from original manufacturers such as AUDI, Ford, Honda and many others.
Each vehicle has special attributes and rarity levels that can be upgraded ingame. The race team editorial team also offers the opportunity to personalize vehicles from original Hot Wheels designs and original vehicle brands. Players can also upload these unique creations or download other designs from the community.
Hot Wheels Unleashed offers six environments, each with its own immersive game world: Garage, Skyscraper, College Campus, Skatepark, Track Room (a special level specifically designed to demonstrate the creative freedom of the Track Builder feature), and The Basement, a room that players can design individually: furniture and accessories with hundreds of customization options are waiting to be rearranged and individualized.
The Track Builder is a unique feature that Milestone developers used to create the game’s own tracks. The feature allows players to create an infinite number of race track variations through different track builder modules. More than 20 modules will be available at launch, including TRex Escape, Spider Ambush, and Hungry Cobra. The track builder also gives players the option to share their creations ingame or download tracks from other players for fun.
The competition on the track remains exciting: players have continuous access to new content for Hot Wheels Unleashed™ be happy! The content plan includes other vehicles from iconic brands such as Street Fighter™, Masters of the Universe™, DC, Barbie™ and vehicle brands with a racing tradition such as Aston Martin, BMW and McLaren™.
In addition, free and premium DLCs are released at regular intervals, which include vehicles, track building modules, items to customize and exclusive themed expansion sets with new environments. Players also have the option to participate in racing seasons or take on limitedtime challenges with new vehicles and special rewards.
HOT WHEELS™ Pass Vol. 1 contains ten vehicles, three customization packs and three track building modules, as well as the HOT WHEELS™ Batman expansion. Pass Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 will be announced at a later date.
Hot Wheels Unleashed seems crazy for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Switch.
