How It Happened
After handily defeating Glenville State on Wednesday night in Charleston, the Golden Eagles were assigned a much tougher task in the weekend matchup against Concord. The game marked an important moment for UC as they would need to prove they could beat the conference top dog to make a run at first place in the MEC.
Charleston's efforts were steady as on the day the Golden Eagles had thirteen shots to Concord's fifteen. However, in the first half Leah Foster found the back of the net with 15 minutes left in the half. And again in the second half the Mountain Lions would find a way to get the ball past goalkeeper Kaylee Hensley, this time from the foot of Yasmin Mosby. Kassandra Demps and Keira Hill were the only two Golden Eagles who were able to put shots on net.
