A motor vehicle accident killed 2 people in Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV)

On Saturday, a 33-year-old Springfield man and a 34-year-old Chicopee man lost their lives following a motor vehicle accident in Las Vegas at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

Officials quickly responded to the area of Red Rock Loop at about 8 a.m. after getting reports of a crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that the Chicopee man was riding a 2021 Polaris Slingshot, which is a three-wheeled vehicle. The rider was apparently speeding through a curve when the vehicle hit small boulders.

Reports further showed that the vehicle caught fire after it rolled over in a gulley. The Springfield man was reportedly a passenger in that vehicle. Both men succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities mentioned that Scenic loop was shut down as crews worked at the scene and would be back open again on Sunday.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
