The Iowa State Patrol is looking for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a person believed to have jumped from an Iowa City bridge onto Interstate 80 Monday.
The agency released an accident report late Monday night indicating the person was struck and killed just after 4:15pm in the eastbound traffic lanes under the Dodge Street bridge. A call to Iowa City Police indicates a woman jumped from the bridge.
The woman was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where she was pronounced dead.
Eastbound traffic was tied up for over and hour during the investigation.
