Eli Manning knows that quarterback Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys has a famous warmup routine in which he tangos down the field in order to rotate his hips as far as they can go to help his flexibility when he unfurls deep passes downfield.

On Monday Night Football, Prescott’s Cowboys faced off against the division rival Philadelphia Eagles, and the two Manning brothers (Peyton and Eli) manned the broadcast booth to entertaining and rewarding effect.

Before the game began — which was the home opener for the Cowboys this season — Peyton poked fun at Eli’s attempts to impersonate Prescott’s singular warmup routine:

As you can see, the younger Manning brother lacks the requisite flexibility to pull off those striking hip turns of the star quarterback for the Cowboys, and his elder brother took him to task with some playful barbs about the tightness and size of his jeans.

Despite the rather amusing warm-up routine, it seemed to serve Prescott well on Monday night, as the Cowboys raced out to a 20-7 lead over the Eagles by halftime.

After suffering a gruesome ankle injury last October, Prescott missed the remainder of the 2020 NFL season, which led the Cowboys into a purgatory of doom in which they finished 6-10 and were led by former Bengals QB Andy Dalton in Prescott’s stead.

In Week 1, and as Eli Manning knows, Prescott didn’t look at all affected by last season’s brutal injury, as he piloted the Cowboys to a narrow defeat against the reigning Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a final score of 31-29.

Last week, the Cowboys got back in the win column against the Los Angeles Chargers. Dak Prescott was 23 of 27 for 237 yards in the win. The ‘Boys appear to be the early favorite in the NFC East, with Washington and the New York Giants both floundering and the Eagles cooling off after their lopsided Week 1 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
