Apparently, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was insanely close to signing a professional football contract with a couple of NFL teams. According to the four-time NBA champion, who was a then member of the Miami Heat, he seriously considered accepting a couple of offers on the table that would've had him suiting up for either the Dallas Cowboys or the Seattle Seahawks.
“Jerry Jones offered me a contract also Pete Carrol did as well in Seattle during our lockout time,” James told both Peyton and Eli Manning on ESPN's Monday Night Football coverage. “It definitely got my blood flowing again, it got my mind raising again thinking about the game of football and being out there on Sundays. But we were able to get a deal done in the NBA and I was back on the court in no time but I definitely thought about it. I still have the jerseys too that Jerry and Pete sent me from 2011,”

That would've been something to see.
For proper context, the 17-time NBA All-Star had a handful of Division 1 offers as a high school football player at St. Vincent-St. Mary's High School in Akron, Ohio. James played WR and was even named first-team All-State during his sophomore year, while also dominating the hardcourt as the basketball team's star player.
Obviously, the Lakers star ended up taking the basketball route and has already made himself quite a career in the NBA after 18 incredible seasons. But, with the insane amount of talent that LeBron James possesses, who's to say it couldn't have gone the same way had he decided to choose the gridiron instead.
