Northwestern and Nebraska are two teams off to sluggish starts in 2021, and both teams are still in search of a B1G win to start the year.

The Huskers have been close, losing one-possession games against Illinois and Michigan State within the conference. A third close loss to Oklahoma has led to a frustrating start for Scott Frost’s team.

The Wildcats were blown out in their only B1G game this season by the Spartans and lost an ugly game on the road to Duke.

Remarkably, both teams are still searching for their first Power 5 win this year, but at least one team will get that in Week 5. The series between the Wildcats and Huskers is usually a close and hard-fought one, but ESPN’s FPI sees a clear favorite this year.

According to the FPI, Nebraska is given a 78.9% chance of winning in front of its home crowd. The Huskers have just one win in the last four meetings with the Wildcats.

The two sides have alternated victories over the last 3 contests with Northwestern winning 21-13 in 2020. Those 3 games have been decided by a total of 14 points.

Who takes home the win in 2021? Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7:30 pm EST on BTN.
